Unguja Lodge is a small, relaxed and friendly lodge in a lovely spot overlooking the picturesque Menai Bay Conservation area on Zanzibar's south-west coast. While there is coral in the bay, there is no coral reef to act as a barrier, so it's easy to walk out and swim here at low tide.
The lodge features 10 private villas and two family homes each with tons of space. Relaxation and luxury are paramount and it shows from the bougainvillea-lined pool to the 12 architecturally designed thatched villas.
The restaurant offers fresh food with mainly local ingredients. Everything is made from scratch, even the crisps and the bread rolls. Being so close to the sea the specialty is obviously fish and sea food. But if you are not a big fan, you can also choose meat or a vegetarian meal.
Local activities can be booked on-site and include snorkelling and diving, village tours or dolphin spotting (additional charges may apply).
WiFi is available.
